| Introduction ⟩

Welcome to The Atomiq Hackathon, hosted by the Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computing (QuantCom) at IEM Kolkata in collaboration with IBM Quantum for Qiskit Fall Fest 2026. Celebrating a decade of cloud quantum computing under the banner "Chi(r)ps: A Decade of Harmony on the Cloud", this 24-hour virtual hackathon sprint challenges builders, researchers, and creators worldwide to translate quantum phenomena into ground-breaking real-world solutions across 9 specialized domains.

| Tools and Technologies ⟩

Participants are free to build with any quantum computing SDK, framework, or simulator that fits their pipeline. Recommended and supported tools include:

  • Quantum SDKs & Simulators: Qiskit, PennyLane, Cirq, Amazon Braket, or custom statevector simulators.

  • Classical & Hybrid Frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, NumPy, SciPy, or Next.js/FastAPI for user interfaces.

  • Hardware & Cloud Backends: IBM Quantum Cloud, local aer simulators, or cloud-accessible QPUs.

| Inspiration ⟩

IBM quantum processors bear the names of birds, mirroring the subtle resonance and acoustic tuning required to calibrate cryogenic QPUs. While standard enterprise systems wage war on noise and randomness, qreativity thrives on them. Draw inspiration from superposition, entanglement, wave interference, and intermediate-scale noise—treating the quirks of quantum physics not as bugs, but as the raw brushstrokes of your algorithm.
